Political Correctness is a More Dangerous Form of Totalitarianism

Political Correctness is a More Dangerous Form of Totalitarianism

By Nataša

Slovenian philosopher and social critic Slavoj Žižek talks about dangers of political correctnes, and the confusion it creates when we look at the power relationships in all aspects of life. Having a friendly relationship with your boss is fine, but according to Žižek this kind of relationship makes it ever more difficult to protest and protect your own integrity and rights and that makes the free choice not as free as we would like to think.

Slavoj also talks about how political correctness influences os to engage in self censorship when joking and adressing politically sensitive subjects and much more.

As always, Slavoj puts things into a rather interesting perspective and makes you think about the state of the political world today …

Enjoy!
